Y’all, I’m going to show you an amazing house today, owned and decorated by my friend Kris. Kris is a southern gal, transplanted to central Iowa, where she and her husband live with their 5 (almost 6!) children. She also blogs at Our Thrifty Nest of 7.
I met Kris on a local facebook swap site. She was selling a bunch of HomeShed style home décor. After seeing her décor online, I really wasn’t prepared when I drove up to her house and saw this…
I’d heard of a few “machine-shed houses” but had never been in one. Boy was I in for a surprise! The outside might not have been much to write home about, but the inside is amazing. I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.
Was that what you were expecting to see? Just goes to show, you can’t judge a book by its cover, or a house by its exterior!
I took a LOT more pictures, including the transformation of the exterior and kids rooms, which I’ll show you next week. Until then, hang out with me on facebook and check out the transformation of MY exterior!
Simply creative, beautiful, and inspiring!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I nixed this idea back when we were thinking about it, but I hadn't seen a model that had this kind of living space! Do they use part of it as a shop? If so, are the walls sound proof? Cool Beans!
ReplyDeleteLove this. Can you ask her what her paint colors are? I love the living room & hallway color. Beautiful home.

We live in the whole space. My husband is in the home improvement business, and wanted an exterior that wouldn't need much maintaining. We designed the inside ourselves, and wanted an open concept with a growing family.
ReplyDeleteMy living room is painted "winter flannel" by Lowes Valspar.
And the kitchen and downstairs hallway is "relaxed khaki" by Sherwin Williams.
Thanks y'all for nice comments. :)

ReplyDeleteIncredible!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome. I too have seen machine shed homes but have never been in one. All I can say is - Wow!
ReplyDeleteWow - when I saw the first picture and hadn't started reading yet, I thought it was just a drive shed on a property. I never would have guessed that would be the house! So cool.
ReplyDeleteDo people do that because it's cheaper? I've never heard of it before.
Definitely wouldn't have expected that on the inside! Gorgeous house!
ReplyDeleteOh my word! Scott can never, ever, EVER see this post! He has been begging me for YEARS to build us a machine shed house and I won't have any part of it! But wow! Looking at her home, makes me want to reconsider. Look at all that space! It's absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!! I did a *gasp!* when I started scrolling through the indoor pictures! BEAUTIFUL!!! I'm writing down those paint names for future reference! GORGEOUS!!!! I can't wait to see more of the house!!!!
