I had it all designed in my head once…and then too much time passed and I have some new ideas.
#1: I want tall wainscotting, with a deeper shelf at the top.
#2: I had decided to do white wainscotting, a medium blue above it, and navy/denim accents.
But then…
#3: I saw an adorable green and brown bedroom. And then I thought maybe a lighter green on top would be pretty, and I could put some of our kazillion 1/16th John Deere tractors up there. (Except ADAM plays with those, and he wouldn’t be able to get them down himself. Right now we have no good place to store them, though.)
So I’m going to let this keep rumbling around in my head, since the plaster isn’t off the walls yet, anyway. And in the meantime, here are some inspiration pics:
This is the height of wainscotting I want…and the green and blue are cute together, right?
This would be so fun on a couple panels!
If I decide to go green/brown, I thought about putting the brown up top, too.
The rest are all from PB Kids.
Green/Brown: We have kazillions of hubby’s dinosaurs that we could display, too.
Green/Blue
Love monochromatic rooms. Imagine this, except BLUE or GREEN. And don’t you love that furniture? Seems perfect for a farm!
These sheets would be perfect in a blue/green room!
I ADORE the alphabet up there!
Lighter blue walls with navy…
shades of blue:
Shades of blue AND a display shelf
Whatcha think? Shades of blue like I was originally thinking? Shades of green? Green AND Blue? Green and brown?
I like the green/brown room with the dinosours. Very cute. Love the tall wainscotting with the shelf at the top. Tough decsion, but its fun. I absolutely loved the "nesting" phase! :)
ReplyDeleteI like them all so I'm no help. I think I'd go with green/brown or blue/brown, though. Blue and green is pretty, as long as green is the more prevalent color. I like the idea of the tractors as accent pieces (what, no International?). I don't know if you have any good thrift stores around, but a lot of times you can find old tractors, trucks, etc in wood or metal.
ReplyDeleteI loved the green/blue combo. Cute for a little or big guy.

I LOVE the green and blue together, love the thought of putting oodles of dinosaurs on display up on a shelf high up, love the alphas across the top of the wainscotting and i love, LOVE, that furniture that you said would be good on a farm. I agree! LOVE IT!! :)
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful choices! I love the white board & batten with green on top. You could still do light blue or denim bedding. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
ReplyDeleteI must admit that I LOVE the blue shade of the wall (the picture where the boy and girl are reading)...such a unique color. Tractors and dinos would be sooo cute!
ReplyDeleteI love the green and brown, but that last photo of blues is pretty sweet! You have to do the cork board, too cute.
ReplyDeletei am having strong reactions to the blue one with the stars on the wall and the last blue one- i am loving the "shades of blue".... masculine and soothing, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm voting for Green and Brown!!!
ReplyDeleteBut I love all of these...haha!
Ooh, I love them all. If it were me, I would probably do green and brown and do the walls brown because it's more versatile to change later... and I'm a HUGE wimp when it comes to painting so it takes me forever to figure out what I want and then actually do it. :)
ReplyDeleteOhMyVeryGoodness! I LOVE the Brookfield bedroom set! If only I could afford to - I'd redo both of my boys' rooms in it! It reminds me of barn doors! My oldests' room is blue with a cow mural on one wall and a farm border along the top of the other three. My youngest son's is green/brown w/ a tree mural on one wall - the bedding is deer themed (Husband is a hunter). I got both from Baby Depot.
ReplyDeleteI love the wainscotting & brown/green! I also just recently saw the "farmy" nursery furniture in PBK and LOVED it, too bad we're having a girl, and are broke! LOL We are reusing Cash's crib which was originally my 85 year old g'mas iron crib. We made sure to scrape off all the lead based paint, dont worry! Good luck and congrats, youre in the home stretch. Baby brudder will be here soon!
