We are about ready to transition to a “big boy” bed and do some redecorating, so I thought I better take some pictures of Adam’s room before it changes!
I picked out the colors before Adam was born, and we didn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl. I decided to go with red and white, and my Grandma Ede helped me make this quilt.
We were in the middle of renovations (wait a minute, we still are!) when Adam was born, so he didn’t move into his room until he was about 4 months old.
The recliner from the living room used to sit in this corner, but when we moved it downstairs, in came this super comfy, super ugly “muppet chair.” I have two of these chairs, which I bought at a garage sale for $5 each. They swivel, and are truly comfortable, but the furry upholstery reminds us of the Muppets.
The changing table was long ago re-purposed for books and toys. We read about 14 books every night. (Okay, that’s an exaggeration, but if I let Adam choose, we’d read at least 9-11 each night!)
My mom found this dresser at the Goodwill for $25, and the barn door was in a shed when we moved here. Yes, it’s crooked.
This was my childhood dresser. I repainted it white in college. No, I didn’t distress it…the chipped paint is from being moved (and used) over the last several years!
My best friend’s sister had the “Adam” bank painted for him – the normal design has a chicken, but she had them paint a turkey just for him!
OK, I'm a little behind, but I wanted to check out some more blogs. I'm a new follower from New Friend Fridays.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll come check me out at PS Mom Reviews and follow me too!
I have fun giveaways going on now, including one for an $80 GC to CSNstores.com!
I love the white furniture! It looks great. I think your house is so pretty! (even the diaper boxes!)
ReplyDeleteHe's just now moving out of the crib? Remind me how old he is again.
You have great style!
How sweet! I love that picture atop the dresser too... adorable. I see you've got a John Deere boy in the house. My grandson Nolan is a HUGE JD fan, even has a t-shirt that says "Will trade sister for a John Deere" I love your style too, it is just so inviting. Wish I lived closer, I'd pop in for a vist.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute nursery and so easy to transition to a big boy room. I love the red quilt, such a special keepsake for your son(or you).
ReplyDeletewhat a fabulous room! i hopped over from sns and can't wait to see what you do to change it. it's gorgeous as is! best of luck with the bed transitioning!
ReplyDeleteLove the barn door! And the quilt... simply precious!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute room! I love the rocking horse and picture on the dresser. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI love that the "You Been Farming Long" picture or whatever it is called is in his room.
ReplyDeleteWe didn't know if we were having a boy or girl either and we lived in a one bedroom rental house when we had our oldest. (We shared a room with her until she was 1. Then we moved to the front porch with no heat. ) I about had a nervous breakdown in Babies R Us trying to figure out what to do for her sleeping arrangments. Somehow we survived. :-)
Happy 4th!
I love it, Katie. Hope the transition goes well. I esp love the quilt. How cute it that?? My hubbie has a clock he got from his mom when she moved that always hung in their kitchen growing up...it's that same "Been Farming Long?" print. :)
ReplyDeleteDarling room for your little one!
